i heart books

This girl is a  book lover and a vintage book collector (I know such a surprise)!
I love the feel and look of old books with aged tanned pages and..
I  love the thought that many other hands have held that same book.  They may have been inspired by it,  found their brilliant idea in it or just found enjoyment in the stories and illustrations.

When it's time for a gift, one of the gifts that thrills me the most are books.  It's a gift I can hold, enjoy and then pass down to future generations who then add their hand print to it.

So,  naturally I've included a few in the shop that I think make wonderful valentine gifts.  I'm also such a visual,  design obsessed woman,  I've paired them by color. They'll look pretty sweet on the bookshelf too.
Add some chocolate and it's pretty much perfection!

With a little thought and a little searching, there's a book out there that would thrill your sweetie...But please don't forget to add the chocolates.

monday & tuesday discoveries..

Yes, I know it happened again this week...Mondays discoveries became Tuesdays. But at least I've added more than one. Actually it's part of a collection.

For many of you that are new to my blog, I have been unpacking boxes from my previous brick and mortar shop, Solstice home & garden. Sometimes I'm as surprised as you at what I find hidden away! I have also been scouting in and around Cape Cod for hidden treasures to share in my etsy shop. Monday is the day I try to post a new discovery for my blog readers before it gets posted in my shop.

This week they are part of a Vintage Farmhouse Collection

including..
long handled french lopers, (wonderful old paint)
vintage chippy framed screen (perfect for a project)
antique green shutter (chippy..but..it has original hardware)
wonderful old tool chest (original hardware and awesome patina)

all soon to be posted in the shop..

Have a great night
Sue

I thought I'd make them a little brighter.
Starting today and then each Monday, I will post some great new finds.
before they are posted in my etsy shop.
My readers get first peek.
See something you like...just drop me a note.

This Monday it's..
All White
and they are all awesome!

Off to find

One good thing that has come from the lack of having a
brick and mortar storefront is more time to explore and hunt
fabulous finds for my
web site www.solsticehome.com
and my etsy shop www.solsticehome.etsy.com.
It is also giving me the opportunity to visit some of the shops
and talented people here on Cape Cod.
Known for nurturing the independent spirit, Cape Cod is home to many gifted and skilled artists in all forms of media. The end of the summer season seems a perfect time to hit the roadways, byways and seashores. You might just find a treasure or two along the way.

ps; If there is a direction you want me to head in, let me know...
I’ll try to make that left turn.
