happy thanksgiving

 { life here :: thanksgiving }

our first thanksgiving living here in portland.

it's amazing to be living here and sharing it with all my children together and yet,  i'm feeling somewhere between...

somewhere between  by theaterclouds

this contentment and the discontent of missing my extended family and friends back east.

so many small things remind me

of traditions and memories of holidays past

so today when i sit down to dinner and raise my glass in toast

it will be a toast to all of you my dear family and friends,  near and far ...
i am truly thankful for all of the love, traditions and memories we've shared.

across the miles
happy thanksgiving
love

sunday morning musings...(and a bit of news)

morning friends,

this week's place for sunday morning coffee is right here,  in my sun room.

it's sunny, warm & cozy in here...it's about 5 degrees outside...let's stay in and enjoy this room while we can...

which brings me to a bit of news i have for you ...  we are moving ...we are heading west...all the way west...
to  Portland Oregon!

that would be ALL of us...two households,  with 4 adults, 1 child, 1 dog.. and 2 shops,  solsticehome and trampoline.  we're joining our son and daughter who have lived in Portland for 3 yrs now.  it's time to reunite this family.

i couldn't be more excited and yes,  a little apprehensive about all the details. . i know it's not impossible and  i'm pretty sure  positive it will be very interesting  ;)

i've decided to write a weekly journal of our unfolding adventure.  i hope you'll follow along with me. i think i'll need some words of encouragement now and then.

enjoy your sunday everyone

tis the season...out & about

Out & About
it seems it’s holiday weekend on Cape Cod. Most towns are having their holiday strolls, tree lighting, open houses, and any number of old fashion fun family events.
If your in the area, cross over the bridge, breathe a stress relief sigh and take some time to enjoy the holidays.
You can head over to each towns web site or for a fairly complete link of the events in many of the towns here.

I’m looking forward to being in Sandwich with our grandson for a” Christmas weekend.”
We have a busy fun time planned. Friday night it’s Carol singing in town with cider and cookies. Saturday it’s off to the North Pole on the North Pole Express Train ride. Back home for hot chocolate and decorating the Christmas tree. Sunday Heritage Gardens is having an open house with a lighted walk to ride the antique carousel, crafts and fun!

Put the holiday craziness aside for a day or two and enjoy!

ps.. if you insist on shopping, sit by the fire, open your computer...I have added some new items to etsy.

Traveling over 3000 miles
is a taxing experience. It turns into a wonderful experience
when it ends with family and amazing vista's.
Thought I'd share some of the sights & scenes
awaiting us in Portland Oregon.

Mt Hood

Multnomah Falls @ Columbia River Gorge

Lost Lake

Japanese Gardens
Rose Gardens @ Washington Park

Have a perfect Monday
