favorite finds this week

is for all the procrastinators among us..
i found a few lovely ideas for mother's day (it's not too late)...

for true beauty from simplicity,  i love these intricately crocheted beach stones from StitchHappens7

"Each finished crocheted piece is a one of a kind, using a variety of different materials"

limited edition set above, is available (last one though..so don't wait)

for the mom who loves vintage,  melt her heart with this vintage book

if your mom is a bird lover,  a hand-thrown porcelain disc birdfeeder,

from PigeonToeCeramics,  it will look good, even without the birds

oh my,  i especially love this Antique Marine Life Engraving
an original 1808 copperplate engraving by Milton from trampoline ...
do you think she will get the hint?  ;)

and for the very best gift of all ....
give her a big hug and tell her you love her

favorite finds this week

as i was rearranging my home, it became apparent how much i use benches all around the house.

it's a very versatile piece of furniture "the bench"
thought i'd share a few of my favorites with you today

love the combination of rustic and modern on this reclaimed wood bench

by urbanwoodgoods Modern Industrial rustic wood bench with mid century styled steel hairpin legs

this totally reclaimed bench made from old cabinet doors,  reclaimed doug fir and recycled bicycle tubes is eco friendly and smart looking

a driftwood settee would be a perfect place to sit and enjoy the garden

how great is the clean simple style and comfortable look of this

a bench with storage even better

now add in a view ....
i'm all set...i think i'll sit here on this bench for awhile.

happy saturday

favorite finds this week

for this weeks  favorite finds i decided to look for tiny things...all the better to fit into my packing  boxes,
pretty clever of me..don't you think?

and how clever is this;
for the nomadic writer,  the Little Nomadic Gnome. Measuring 1 x ½ ",  a tiny piece of reclaimed black leather once part of a vintage motorcycle muzzle. T. 30 sheets  of tea-stained Italian drawing paper. Hand-torn and stitched with archival linen thread,  with a  miniature authentic vintage skeleton key all in a wee wooden gnome box

a set of 2 wee bowls, also called "pinch pots" at  only 1"tall and 1 1/2"wide,   they are quite adorable

a delicate little Bavarian Bird Vase, perfect for a  flower stem or two

tiny canvas print by tushtush, it amazes me how she adds such detail on a tiny canvas, love her work

and for my readers who like things a bit larger...

an under the apple tree canopy bed - "Modern romantic Scandinavian design Sleep Therapy woodland fairy tale"  this beauty is all handmade to size... stunning....and it really does look like your sleeping in a fairytale.

what's your preference, do you like things tiny or large?

what do you have planned for this weekend ~  i'm in the middle of house projects, so i'll be working under layers of dust this weekend..i'll fill you in next week.

happy saturday

this week

favorite finds started to create a theme.  i couldn't resist..i went with it.

a room that could be a  "place of your own."  it could be a studio, workroom or office, whatever it's used for, it's a place that should make you smile.

this makes me smile....

a handmade double sided map clipboard,  this will add a bit of fun and color to my everyday To-Do lists.  the clipboard itself is made of hardboard and assembled by adults with disabilities.

from box64studios on etsy with other maps and patterns available

a set of Four Vintage Sewing Thimble Planters, adorable for the windowsill near my desk
from doodlebirdie on etsy

this  desk, you can only see a corner, but what a corner it is..

from my home board on pinterest

some interesting art for the wall, with a punch of color, because my rooms are always subdued

Double Yellow Lines Set of Mini Prints from eyeshoot on etsy

a comfy chair, yes every room should have a place you can just kick back and relax

if you have a chair, you need a pillow... i like the whimsical folk art of this one

and i think we have the start of a room i could love

hope your enjoying this room...i'll be adding more to it as i find just the right pieces.

happy friday friends
